For Families
More than a school
City-As-School is more than a high school — it is a learning community in the heart of New York City.
As a learning community, we have a warm and unique way of engaging students. We value freedom, trust and responsibility.
We are a transfer school admitting students who are at least sixteen years-old who are Junior, Seniors, and Rising Seniors with at least 16 credits from their previous school.
Our students travel from all five boroughs to attend City-As-School on Clarkson Street in the West Village of Manhattan. They learn by experience—in small seminars, in internships, and by preparing their portfolios for graduation.
City-As-School is one of twenty-seven schools in the New York State Performance Standards Consortium promoting performance-based academic assessment over high stakes testing. Consortium Schools “boast graduation, college-going, and college retention rates that routinely top city, state, and national averages,” according The Village Voice.
